Privacy notice
kidscancode is built for children, so we collect as little as possible.
What we store
- The parent or guardian's email address and first name, to log in.
- Each child's first name and chosen picture.
- Which lessons each child has started or finished, and their stars.
What we don't do
- We never ask children for their email or any contact details.
- No ads, no chat, no tracking for advertising, and we never sell data.
Analytics
To see which lessons are working and where kids get stuck, we record anonymous events such as “lesson started”, “step finished” and “lesson finished”, along with the page visited, the website that sent you here, and your browser and device type. We use PostHog to process these events.
- No names, emails, answers or typed code are ever sent.
- No cookies or local storage are used for analytics, and we don't build profiles of individuals.
- No screen recordings, and IP addresses are not stored.
- If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, no analytics events are sent at all.
Blocking spam
The grown-ups' login page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person, not a bot, is asking for a login email. It looks at technical details from your browser, not who you are, and isn't used for advertising. Children's pages don't use it.
Your choices
From the Grown-ups page you can remove a child's profile or delete your whole account at any time. Deleting removes the data from our database straight away.
This is a draft notice for the first version of the site and should be reviewed before public launch.
